Join us as we discuss updates to the Pre-Employment Training Services (Pre-ETS) program in New Jersey. Under the Work Incentive Opportunity Act, student can receive Job Exploration Counseling; Work-based learning experiences, which may include in-school, after school, or community based opportunities; Counseling on opportunities for enrollment in comprehensive transition or postsecondary educational programs at IHEs (Institutions of Higher Education); Workplace readiness training to develop social skills and independent living; and Instruction in self advocacy, including peer mentoring.

Learn how your student can participate in this program at their school as a part of their Transition Services, how to request the Pre-ETS in the IEP meeting, and how to prepare for exploring career options in the world of work.

The relationship between siblings plays a very important role in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). As they care for their brother or sister with I/DD they are often overlooked as needing support themselves. Supporting siblings may help ease anxiety and make them feel comfortable in their role as a caregiver.
