New Residents Welcomed Home During Roseland Open House

August 5th, 2016

On Thursday, August 4th members of The Arc of Essex County joined Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo and John Duthie Mayor of Roseland for a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house at The Arc's new group home in Roseland.  During the event, members of the press, The Arc's board of directors, DDD representatives, funders, and neighbors welcomed the four new residents home.

Acquired in June 2015, the home underwent extensive renovations prior to move in.  Renovations included various barrier-free/accessibility improvements, adding front/rear wheelchair ramping, converting the existing master bathroom to a handicapped accessible bathroom, upgrading the lighting, and installing a full fire suppression system.

The acquisition, renovations, and furnishings were made possible through the generous support of Essex County Division of Housing and Community Development, the Township of Roseland, New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities, PwC, Catholic Human Services Foundation, and Ralph M. Cestone Foundation.

The Arc of Essex County would also like to thank members of the community who helped welcome the new residents home by purchasing items off of their Bed Bath and Beyond registry.  If you would still like to contribute, the registry is available here.
