The Arc of Essex County, a nonprofit organization that supports those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is seeking elementary, middle and high school students either living with a disability or close to someone with a disability to become part of its Building Tomorrows Student Ambassador Program.

Ambassadors will use their personal stories to motivate the public to participate in the 17th Annual Building Tomorrows initiative, a 5K race, 2-mile walk and Family Fun Fest fundraiser, scheduled for April 25 in Brookdale Park, Bloomfield.

"Being a Student Ambassador is a fantastic way to raise awareness about intellectual and developmental disabilities in your community," said Linda C. Lucas, chief executive officer, The Arc of Essex County. "We encourage you to inspire the community with your story."
