Stepping Stones Celebrates Arbor Day and Earth Day
April 28th, 2017
Throughout the month of April students at the Stepping Stones School have been learning about plants, the environment, and how to protect our planet. In celebration of Earth Day they practiced the 3 R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - by sorting materials (paper, metal, glass and plastic) and brainstorming ways to help protect the Earth.
On Friday, April 28th, the transitional kindergarten class learned about the parts of a plant. After identifying all the parts of a flower and examining seeds, the students planted marigolds and wildflowers on school grounds.
