Summer Fun in Full Swing at Camp Hope

August 5th, 2016

Friday, August 5th marks the end of the fifth week of summer fun at Camp Hope. Since the start of camp on July 5th, we've been soaking up the sun and staying cool in the pool with nearly 150 children and adults. Campers have enjoyed some tried and true favorites throughout their themed weeks at Camp Hope while being introduced to new activities by the always inventive camp staff.

At the conclusion of week two, themed "Let's Get Movin," Camp Hope hosted the very first camp color run. Campers enjoyed an afternoon of exercise and dousing each other with colorful paints and powders upon reaching milestone markers on the running course.

The annual Camp Hope Car Wash returned at the end of week three along with the much anticipated Camp Olympics taking place the end of week four. While competing in their own Olympic-like activities, campers shared what they are most excited about seeing during the highly-anticipated 2016 Olympics in Rio.

Week five concluded with the return of the Camp Hope Talent Show featuring singing, dancing, and performances from campers and staff of all ages. With just two weeks left, campers can expect many more exciting activities - including the conclusion of The Arc of Essex County's Dunk Tank Challenge where campers will have the opportunity to dunk nearly 10 members of the Board of Directors!
