The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in several areas, including employment, transportation, public accommodations, communications and access to state and local government programs and services. This webinar will provide an overview the ADA, how it relates to everyday life and what to do if you feel you or your loved ones right are being violated under the ADA.

Maintaining service documentation is mandatory for providers of Division-funded services, including Self-Directed Employees (SDEs) enrolled in either the Vendor Fiscal/Employer Agent model with Public Partnerships (PPL) or the Agency with Choice model with Easterseals.

This training webinar is intended to ensure that self-directed employees and those who hire them have an understanding of how to appropriately maintain service documentation. The Arc of the US and The Arc of New Jersey promote many Action Alerts to provide ways of enacting positive change for people with I/DD, their families, and those who support them. Viewers will learn about past and ongoing Action Alerts as well as how to participate and stay informed. Other types of advocacy campaigns and ways of ensuring your voice is heard will also be discussed.
