A December to Remember for The Arc’s Adult Recreation & Respite Program

December 24th, 2018

The month of December was filled with fun activities and holiday favorites for participants in The Arc of Essex County’s Adult Recreation & Respite Program.  On Sunday, December 2nd, the adult recreation program took a trip to Great Adventure for the Holiday in the Park celebration.  The group had a wonderful afternoon enjoying the Christmas lights, shopping, and the indoor, magical performance of Wonder: A Cirque Spectacular. Following the show, the group met some of the characters.

On Sunday, December 9th, the recreation program traveled north to Skylands Stadium in Augusta, NJ where they enjoyed the Christmas Light Show.  Participants were driven through the mile-long light show with more than 2 million dazzling lights along the route. Afterwards, the group stopped at the Christmas Village to meet Santa, watch carolers and other performances, shop, play games, and enjoy hot beverages.

Finally, on Sunday, December 23rd, the group took a trip to Livingston Mall, spending the afternoon picking out the perfect gift for loved ones and enjoying a light meal after all that shopping.
