Camp Hope Summer of Fun
August 19th, 2019
The Arc of Essex County wrapped up the 2019 Camp Hope season with a myriad of visitors and activities in the month of August. On Wednesday, August 7th the New York Red Bulls Freestyle Crew and staff members visited Camp Hope. The day was full of fun as the campers showcased their soccer skills, picked up some new tips and tricks, and even got to watch a performance from the Red Bulls Freestyle Crew! Throughout the day, Red Bulls staff members helped the campers practice their aiming and ball handling skills as well as how to work together towards a common goal.
Then, on Wednesday, August 14th, EaZy Bubbles stopped by for some science fun! The campers watched and participated in a bubble show. Afterward, they created Bubble Painting in Art to finish the day.
Finally, the Dancing DJs closed out the camp season on Friday, August 16th with lively music, dancing, and fun during the annual end of summer dance. Camper favorites included Limbo, the Cupid Shuffle, and many other camper-requested tunes.
The 2019 Camp Hope season was one to remember with record setting enrollment of more than 200 campers. The Arc of Essex County would like to thank everyone who made this season a success including visitors from the New Jersey State Golf Association, the New York Red Bulls, EaZy Bubbles, and the Dancing DJs. The Arc would also like to extend a thank you to all of the funders who contributed towards the 2019 camp season: New Jersey State Golf Association Youth Foundation, Novartis US Foundation, Newark Fresh Air Fund, Catholic Human Services Foundation, and the Orange Orphan Society.
Stay tuned to The Guardian and The Arc’s social media channels in early 2020 as we announce details for the next Camp Hope season!
