Crisis Averted Thanks to The Hyde and Watson Foundation
January 5th, 2015
The Hyde and Watson Foundation generously provided funds in the amount of $7,700 to replace the boiler unit at the Crisis Respite group home.
The Arc’s Crisis Respite Program provides adults with a community residence setting on a temporary or long-term basis, depending on need. Located in Newark, this large home can serve up to eight residents who require immediate emergency housing. This program is designed to create a family-like setting in which individuals can feel comfortable until they transition into permanent housing or return home. The Arc of Essex County’s 24-hour staff is trained to manage behavioral issues with patience and respect, and provide additional supports based on residents’ needs.
