Four Graduate from New Job Sampling Program

July 17th, 2019

On Tuesday, July 16th the first cohort of participants in The Arc of Essex County’s new vocational exploration and workplace readiness program completed their training.  A partnership with Villa Restaurant Group, the six-week program provided participants the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of working in a restaurant with support from restaurant management and The Arc of Essex County's employment specialist.

Upon program completion and based on interest and skills learned, graduates have the opportunity to pursue career planning at a Villa location where they learn a specific role within the restaurant with one-on-one job coaching.  One of the four original participants will continue to the career planning stage later this summer while the other three will move on to the next vocational focus area, horticulture.  The Arc of Essex County looks forward to the second cohort of participants beginning in the fall!
