Meet Our New Board President
August 15th, 2018
Marnie McNany is excited to begin her term as President of The Arc of Essex County’s Board of Directors. Marnie was first introduced to The Arc when her daughter, Mary, entered the Stepping Stones Early Intervention program in the summer of 2002 and went on to attend Stepping Stones School. Mary then attended Camp Hope for several fun-filled summers. Marnie has also been active with The Candle Lighters assisting with their fundraising efforts in support of Arc of Essex County since her daughter attended Stepping Stones.
Marnie joined The Arc’s Board of Directors in 2009. While on the Board, Marnie has seen changes in the nation, state, and Arc organization itself. When asked why she has chosen to take such an active leadership role in The Arc, Marnie said, “As legislators and providers look to provide support and create programming for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, The Arc of Essex County has been at the forefront. Its structure and reach has enabled The Arc to remain a key factor in residential and day services for individuals and families: it is amazing to see. The strength of The Arc of Essex County was made clear to my family from our first day in 2002 and I see it still today: the commitment of the people here who deliver support, education, and services.”
The Arc of Essex County is proud to welcome Marnie into her new leadership role.
