Thanksgiving Celebrations Abound at The Arc
November 27th, 2019
Throughout the month of November, The Arc of Essex County’s programs were busy celebrating Thanksgiving.
On Sunday, November 3rd, attendees of the Adult Recreation Program enjoyed a Thanksgiving Scavenger Brunch. The group started off creating beaded bracelets and necklaces and a painting project, while others helped prepare the meal. Everyone also made their own candy pilgrim hat with peanut butter cups, icing, and M&M’s.
On Friday, November 22nd, the Creative Visions Day Program hosted their annual Turkey Day potluck with a homemade feast prepared by the staff! Attendees and staff indulged in turkey, fried chicken, mac 'n cheese, stuffing, pie and more.
Then, on Tuesday, November 26th the Stepping Stones School in Roseland, NJ hosted a Thanksgiving Celebration. Leading up to the event, each class did their part in preparing something special for the feast. Family members were invited to attend and spend the day with their loved ones to enjoy the delicious meal the students made. Students and their families sampled soup, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and even a home made soup appetizer! Many students dressed up in traditional pilgrim attire with hats, bonnets, and more!
The Arc hopes everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
