The Arc Unveils Reimagined Camp Hope Facilities

June 29th, 2018

On Thursday, June 28th, The Arc of Essex County hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and donor recognition event to unveil the recreational improvements made to the Camp Hope grounds as part of the Create Play Capital Campaign.  More than 50 individual and foundation donors, Arc Board and staff, government officials, and families attended.

During the event, attendees toured the new, expansive air conditioned multi-purpose indoor activity center, additional outdoor shaded play space, and the enhanced multi-sensory splash pad.  Other highlights included the remodeled pool pavilion, basketball courts, playground, and recreation field.

The original Create Play goal was to raise $250,000, but The Arc was challenged to dream bigger.  With the support of the community, more than $1 million worth of recreational improvements were made to this treasured camp.

The project would not have been possible without the generous support of donors and commitment from Mayor Joseph Pannullo and the Township of East Hanover.  The Arc of Essex County and Camp Hope will welcome record enrollment during the 2018 camp season, which run from July 2 to August 17.  Thank you to everyone who made the Camp Hope Create Play Capital Campaign a success.
