What We Do
2022 Spring Appeal
Camp Hope has been a lifeline for so many of our families, bringing consistency, community, and fun to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sadly, obstacles remained for some families who were unable to attend camp because of a lack of accessible transportation for their loved ones. As we prepare for the summer of 2022, we are excited to serve many more campers, expanding our enrollment by 45% over last year. We are determined to remove the transportation barrier for those families who lacked access in the past. Help us connect campers to the summer of their dreams.
No one should have to choose between love and access to crucial benefits
Everyone should have the right to marry the person they love. But for many people with disabilities, getting married can mean losing access to critical benefits. The reason behind this? “Marriage penalties” that can lead to cuts in benefits and limit savings for married people with disabilities who rely on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and other Social Security benefits. The good news is momentum is building in Congress to change these unfair rules—and we have the power to make a difference.
