The Arc of Essex County is still in need of paid camp staff and volunteer CITs for the summer of 2022. Located on six acres in East Hanover, Camp Hope is a summer day camp for children and adults with autism, Down syndrome, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Paid positions include lifeguard, camp counselor, 1:1 behavioral counselor, and activity specialists, and require a full seven-week commitment.
Volunteer “counselor in training” positions participate in all activities involving campers. CITs must be age 14 or older, and must commit to a minimum of one week.
The 2022 camp season will run from July 5 to August 19, with training taking place approximately one week before the start of camp. Staff hours are Monday through Friday from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To learn more, contact Anju Padmanabhan at (973) 535-1181 ext. 1233 or [email protected], or Matthew Kyle at (973) 535-1181 ext. 1260 or [email protected].
