Spring Activities Make for a Busy April at The Arc

The children and adults in The Arc of Essex County’s recreation, respite, and day programs have enjoyed a variety of fun activities this spring.

The Arc’s adult recreation activities included an Easter Brunch, complete with egg coloring, crafts, and treats. A trip to the Turtle Back Zoo allowed consumers to encounter an assortment of animals, and included a visit to the reptile house, meeting farm animals, and interacting with marine life in the touch tank. A visit to the Silverball Museum in Asbury Park included playing pinball, skee-ball, shufflepuck, and a variety of arcade games, before participants enjoyed lunch together on the boardwalk. And a Spring Garden Party gave participants a chance to make their own succulent gardens to take home for Mother’s Day.

Day program participants also had a busy month, including visits to the Cherry Blossom Festival at Branch Brook Park in Newark.

Children’s programming in April featured a fun Easter celebration with crafts and egg coloring, as well as a trip to the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland in honor of Earth Day.
