For seven weeks this summer, campers had the opportunity to create new experiences at Camp Hope and enjoy an assortment of games and crafts connected to the weekly and daily camp themes. After a July filled with activities for all ages, August featured two weeks of camp for our youngest campers.

The first week of August was themed “Color Wars,” and campers painted a variety of different types of rainbows, created rainbow fish out of tissue paper, tie-dyed shirts, and made spin-art masterpieces. They got colorful with the annual Color Run, which covered everyone in a mix of brightly colored paints and powders.

For the final week of camp, the theme was “Barnyard-Palooza,” with cow-inspired activities on Monday, horse activities on Tuesday, sheep on Wednesday, pigs and chickens on Thursday, and a big barnyard hoedown on Friday to celebrate a great camp season!

Each week, campers also had the chance to participate in Zumba and Jam Band sessions.

The Arc of Essex County thanks our Camp Hope campers and their families, as well as our incredible camp staff, for another summer full of special and lasting memories. We are already looking forward to our 2025 season!

Camp Hope is a summer day camp for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities located in East Hanover.
