Arc Residents Enjoy UNICO Meals, Elks Party, and Other Special Holiday Treats

Thirteen people gathered in a living room, with four men wearing red sitting in chairs and nine people standing behind them.

Our Arc of Essex County group home residents were well taken care of as they celebrated the holiday season together.

West Essex UNICO delivered meals to more than 30 residents and staff at The Arc of Essex County group homes on December 21, bringing food to our West Caldwell, Green Avenue, and Cedar Grove group homes and our Verona Apartment Program. The robust Italian feast was appreciated by our residents and residential staff.

The Cedar Grove Elks Lodge #2237 hosted several Arc group homes for a Christmas Party on December 9 at St. Catherine of Siena School in Cedar Grove. Belleville, Cedar Grove, Green and Verona group home residents enjoyed the afternoon, where festivities included visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, music, pizza, ice cream, and gifts.

Each of our group homes celebrated the holiday season in their own way, including special meals out, holiday shopping trips, and gift exchanges at home. Terrace Avenue residents hosted a holiday celebration with their families that included baking cookies, creating ornaments, and singing Christmas songs together.

The Arc of Essex County would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Cedar Grove Elks and West Essex UNICO for their generosity year after year, and to our residential staff for making sure the season was full of joy and merriment for our residents.
