As The Arc of Essex County enters a new chapter, we are pleased to launch our 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, a roadmap designed to guide our work over the next several years while strengthening our ability to meet the evolving needs of the individuals and families we serve.
Rooted in our mission, vision, and values, the new Strategic Plan reflects an honest assessment of where we are today and a clear vision for where we are headed. With strong governance, a diversified service model, and a long history of innovation, The Arc is well positioned for thoughtful, sustainable growth, even through funding pressures and an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
At the heart of the plan is a bold vision: “The Arc of Essex County will be the premier model for comprehensive intellectual and developmental disability services—where compassion, people, technology, and innovation converge to ensure that every person can live, work, and thrive.”
To advance this vision, the Strategic Plan focuses on positioning the organization for long‑term strength while expanding our reach and impact across the lifespan. The 2026–2029 Strategic Plan creates specific goals within four core focus areas:
- Expanding Reach
- Social Enterprise
- Branding and Development
- Workforce and Culture
The launch of this Strategic Plan marks an important milestone, but its success will depend on collective commitment from staff, families, board members, donors, and community partners alike. Together, we will continue building an organization that not only adapts to change, but leads with purpose, creativity, and compassion. Through thoughtful strategy and collective effort, The Arc of Essex County is determined to make our vision a reality.
