April was a vibrant and creative month at Studio Arc, with artists and participants embracing the season through a wide range of hands-on projects.
Throughout the programs, spring served as a major source of inspiration. At Bridges, participants created colorful “flower rainbows,” capturing the brightness and renewal of the season through bold designs. Artists at WCHUB explored the concept of contrast, experimenting with line, shape, and varying levels of detail. The leisure group from OZ also continued their detailed mosaic work, crafting intricate designs that will be transformed into large decorative brooches.
Seasonal themes carried into other creative activities as well. Earth Day was celebrated with watercolor projects that focused on soft, blended effects inspired by nature, alongside moments of connection and shared joy among participants. Gardening efforts at Bridges added another layer of hands-on learning, as participants planted and cared for baby tomato plants, eagerly anticipating the results of their work. Even social gatherings incorporated creativity, such as a Girls Night In that brought residents together for a springtime floral crafting project, blending art with community-building in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The month also saw record-breaking participation at Studio Arc’s social events: Girls Night In welcomed a large group of residents from across programs, and Man Cave Monday followed suit with an impressive turnout of 39 participants, making it one of the most well-attended gatherings to date. The evening was filled with energy and friendly competition, with a jersey theme that drew a variety of sports uniforms for the guys in attendance. Altogether, April reflected the heart of Studio Arc; from thoughtful art projects to high-energy social events, participants had opportunities to express themselves, build relationships, and celebrate the season in meaningful ways. Located on Passaic Avenue in Fairfield, Studio Arc provides visitors with opportunities to engage in a wide range of visual and creative arts classes.
