The fun is still going strong at Camp Hope, where campers are celebrating a very special milestone this summer: 70 years of Camp Hope! Since 1956, Camp Hope has provided children, teens, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a place to build friendships, try new experiences, and enjoy everything that makes summer unforgettable.

The season has been packed with creativity (and some serious laughter!). Campers have traveled through the Four Seasons, celebrated holidays from throughout the year, tested their skills during Game On! Week, and explored everything from astronaut training and dinosaurs to safaris, rainbows, and an underwater-themed day that wrapped up with Camp Hope’s annual car wash. One of the highlights of the summer was a groovy celebration marking Camp Hope’s 70th birthday, in early July, which included cupcake decorating (and eating) as well as using shaving cream to decorate an extra large cardboard celebration cake. During Broadway Week, campers were inspired by Wicked, High School Musical, Mamma Mia!, and Annie, culminating in a talent showcase. And Disney Week, featured beloved movies including Toy Story, Cars, The Lion King, Monsters, Inc., and Inside Out.

Coming up for the final week, campers will celebrate Camp Hope spirit with themed dress-up days, including Crazy Sock Day, Tie-Dye Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, Superhero Day, and a festive ’70s Day that pays tribute to the decade Camp Hope first opened its doors.

As Camp Hope celebrates seven decades of creating joyful summer memories, community support continues to make the program possible. Tuition covers only a portion of the true cost of camp, and donations help ensure campers continue to enjoy enriching activities, caring staff, and unforgettable experiences for generations to come.
