The Arc of Essex County is pleased to have recently been awarded grants from three funders to support Arc programming. The Glen Ridge Community Fund awarded $4,000 to The Arc of Essex County for Glen Ridge residents attending Arc programs. The Citizens Philanthropic Foundation and the Investors Foundation awarded a collaborative grant in the amount of $1,000 to support Camp Hope’s operating expenses. The Arc of Essex County extends its sincere appreciation to all three organizations for their generous support, which will make a difference in the lives of the individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our care.

At the 2023 Supportive Housing Conference held on November 3, The Arc of Essex County’s Senior Director of Residential Services Rebecca Lorusso presented on the Supportive Housing Association of New Jersey’s panel on Aging and Services. The panel was moderated by the Senior Program Manager of the Corporation for Supportive Housing, and Rebecca spoke to the group about healthy aging in supportive housing alongside panelists from Volunteers of America Delaware Valley and the North Bergen Housing Authority. The University of Kansas Institute for Health and Disability Policy Studies — funded by the Administration on Community Living's National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) — is seeking adults with disabilities to complete the 2023 National Survey on Health and Disability (NSHD).
