Studio Arc Artisans Receive First Proceeds from Art Sales

Six women stand together in front of a window and a blue and white wall, each holding an envelope up with a check inside.

Day Program Participants who have joined The Arc of Essex County’s Entrepreneurship Club have received their first checks from the sale of items they crafted at Studio Arc. The milestone was celebrated at Studio Arc with a sparkling cider toast.

With pop-up shops at The Arc office and the Building Tomorrows 5K, as well as displays at local shops, the Arc artisans have had the opportunity to not just craft the items for sale, but also learn sales techniques and help manage the business of operating a small arts enterprise. Handmade items, which can be viewed at the Studio Arc Online Shop, include painted canvas tote bags and small zippered bags, decoupaged shell trinket dishes, greeting cards, and packs of note cards featuring Studio Arc artwork.

Proceeds will go to the artisans who created each piece and The Arc of Essex County. Visit bit.ly/studioarcshop to view the current stock of items, or visit the General Store in Montclair or Just Jersey in Morristown to see the greeting cards crafted by Studio Arc artists using mixed media and an embossing machine.

The Arc congratulates the members of the Entrepreneurship Club for their creativity, hard work, and determination, as they see their dream of selling their artwork realized.

Studio Arc provides guests with opportunities to engage in a wide range of visual and creative arts classes.
