It is with great sadness that The Arc of Essex County shares the news of the passing of Juliana Benson. Julie had been a part of The Arc of Essex family for about 25 years, attending Arc day programs and Camp Hope through the years while residing at the West Caldwell Group Home. Julie will be remembered for her determination and independence, her boisterous and engaging personality, and her ability to advocate for what she wanted. She truly lived life on her own terms. She enjoyed socializing and debating with her peers and beading costume jewelry. If there was a celebration of any kind, she was excited to take part in the festivities. Julie was admired for her strength and resilience, even when she wasn’t feeling her best. She will be missed by her family, whom she adored, and her Arc family, who adored her.
