Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Supporters,

It is with heartfelt gratitude and reflection that I share my decision to retire as Chief Executive Officer of The Arc of Essex County this November. After 47 years with this extraordinary organization—15 of those as CEO—the time has come for me to begin a new chapter.

Serving The Arc community has been the honor of a lifetime. Together with a passionate and mission-driven team, we have built a strong foundation of inclusion, empowerment, and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout Essex County. I am deeply proud of all we have accomplished, from expanding our residential footprint with innovative housing options to Studio Arc and exciting day activities for all ages to a beautiful new home for Stepping Stones School—and everything in between. While I look forward to this next phase personally, I will truly miss being part of the daily work that energizes and uplifts our Arc community.

I am pleased to share that our current Chief Operating Officer, Kathy Hinnigan-Cohen, will become CEO in November. Kathy brings extensive experience, a deep understanding of our mission, and an unwavering commitment to the individuals and families we serve. I have full confidence in her leadership and know she will guide The Arc of Essex County with vision and compassion.

In the coming weeks, I hope to connect with many of you to reflect, celebrate, and express my sincere appreciation. Thank you for making these 47 years so meaningful. The Arc of Essex County will always hold a special place in my heart.
