The Arc of Essex County invites the community to come together for the 28th Annual Building Tomorrows 5K Run, Family Walk, and Fun Fest, taking place on Saturday, April 25 at the South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange. This signature event brings families, friends, and supporters together for a day of fitness, celebration, and purpose, offering participants the opportunity to run or walk a scenic course, enjoy family-friendly activities, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Full event details, including registration information, can be found at RunOrWalk.org.
Whether or not supporters can attend the festivities on April 25, the community is encouraged to donate to the fundraising pages of individuals and teams participating that day.
Among participating teams, several Arc group homes are rallying support for projects that will enhance daily living and create memorable experiences for residents. From organizing a group beach day to upgrading shared living spaces with new furniture, each initiative reflects the voices and wishes of the residents. Fundraising pages have been created for each participating residence, including Ashwood , Belmont, Cedar Grove, Irvington Ave, and Washington. Every donation, no matter the size, plays a role in bringing these projects to life and ensuring that residents continue to thrive in comfortable, engaging, and supportive environments.
Whether by registering for the event, donating, or helping any of the 30+ registered teams reach their goals, community members have multiple ways to get involved and make a lasting difference. Visit RunOrWalk.org to learn more about the event and how to support The Arc community.
