The Arc of Essex County is excited to announce new paid internship opportunities for Summer 2026, offering current college students and recent graduates a meaningful way to gain hands-on experience while supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Running from June 1 through August 7, interns will work up to 20 hours per week at a competitive rate of $20 per hour, thanks to support from the Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program. These positions provide a unique chance to build professional skills, collaborate with a dedicated team, and contribute to a mission-driven organization making a real impact within the community.
This summer, The Arc is offering opportunities in both Business Operations and Recreation & Leisure. Interns in Business Operations will gain exposure to key functions such as HR processes, recruitment coordination, and finance-related tasks, while developing valuable organizational and communication skills. Meanwhile, Recreation & Leisure interns will play an active role in supporting inclusive programming through placements such as Camp Hope and Studio Arc, helping to create engaging experiences for program participants while learning the day-to-day operations of community-based services.
Across all roles, interns will strengthen essential workplace skills, from teamwork and communication to problem-solving and professionalism, and gain insight into the inner workings of a nonprofit organization dedicated to inclusion and empowerment. These internships are ideal for students eager to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting and make a lasting difference during the summer months.
