Celebrating the Magic of Our DSPs

The Arc of Essex County celebrated the dedication, compassion, and hard work of our Direct Support Professionals during DSP Recognition Week from September 13 to 19, with this year’s festivities centered on the theme of magic.

Throughout the week, members of the Main Office team traveled to each of our group homes and day program locations to deliver treats and gifts for DSPs to enjoy. The special deliveries were a small way to show appreciation for employees whose impact can be seen every day across The Arc community.

Our DSPs are at the heart of so much that happens at The Arc. They help the people we serve build independence, develop new skills, experience their communities, pursue their interests, and achieve goals big and small. They are there for everyday routines and major milestones, offering encouragement, support, creativity, and care along the way.

The Arc’s Human Resources team put time and energy into planning the week and finding ways to make DSPs throughout the agency feel celebrated. From coordinating gifts and treats to organizing deliveries across Essex County, the team worked behind the scenes to make sure the appreciation reached DSPs wherever they work.

Although DSP Recognition Week gives us an opportunity to shine an extra spotlight on direct-support contributions, our gratitude extends far beyond one week. Thank you to our DSPs for the skill, heart, and dedication you bring to your work, and for sharing your magic with The Arc community throughout the year.
