Children’s Services Roundup

The Arc of Essex County’s Children’s Services programs welcomed the start of fall with opportunities for children and families to learn, play, socialize, and spend time together:

  • Communi-Play returned for a new season, bringing children together to build communication and social skills through music, movement, and play. The program offers an engaging environment where children can practice important skills while having fun with their peers. (Register at bit.y/communi-play.)
  • Social Skills classes also returned this fall, giving children opportunities to practice skills like taking turns, respecting personal space, communicating with others, and navigating social situations. Lessons are reinforced through activities, role-playing, and free play, helping participants put their new skills into practice.
  • Parents’ Night Out celebrated the new season with a “Fall Into Fun” theme. Children enjoyed an evening of seasonal activities and time with friends while parents and caregivers had an opportunity to enjoy a few hours of respite.
  • Family Fun Fest brought more than 20 families together for a beautiful September day filled with activities, fun, and opportunities to connect with other families from across The Arc community. (Read more about this event HERE.)

Save the Date! Children’s Services is also planning special activities for upcoming school breaks. Mark your calendars for Teachers Convention on November 5 and 6, as well as Winter Break activities on December 28, 29, and 30. More details will be coming soon!

Also, the new Children’s Services Fall Catalog is now available, featuring returning favorites along with new classes and activities for children and families.
