Participants across The Arc of Essex County’s Day Programs have been making the most of the final weeks of summer, getting out into the community, building job skills, exploring their creativity, and enjoying time together.

• Bridges Day Program participants have been keeping busy both at the program and out in the community. They continued tending and growing vegetables at Studio Arc, hit the lanes for a fun bowling outing, went shopping, enjoyed community lunches together, and teamed up on creative art projects.
• SYA celebrated summer birthdays and soaked up the season with a special Summer Fun Day, giving participants a chance to enjoy outdoor activities and spend time together in the sunshine.
• Jobs Club participants are putting their skills into action through hands-on job sampling experiences in the community. Participants from West Caldwell Hub are training at Grandma Emma’s bakery, while Opportunity Zone participants are gaining hospitality experience at the DoubleTree by Hilton.
• Studio Arc continues to be a bustling hub of activity for Day Program participants. Artists have been learning new techniques and creating unique projects, and many have participated in yoga classes, gardening activities, and Photography Club sessions (click here to read about their recent trip to a car loft). Participants in the Entrepreneurship Club have also been handcrafting self-care items to sell at upcoming pop-up shops.
