Stepping Stones Starts School Year with Learning and Fun

The students and staff at Stepping Stones School have settled into a new school year and all of the anticipation and fun that comes with it. Throughout their first month back at school, students have been busy and happy.

One highlight of the month was a special day at Camp Hope, where students traded the classroom for some outdoor fun. The Camp Hope grounds provided the perfect setting for a day packed with activities, including bubbles, sensory stations, obstacle courses, sports, playground time, and more. Students had the chance to move, play, explore, and spend time with their classmates and teachers in a different setting.

On September 30, students from West Caldwell Tech came to the Primary Plus classroom to read to students, and the fall ahead will feature a trip to Turtle Back Zoo, a visit from the Fairfield Fire Department, and a Halloween celebration, as well as autumn-themed activities.

The Arc of Essex County’s Stepping Stones School is a Department of Education approved private school for students with disabilities.  Located in Fairfield, NJ, the school is designed to meet the developmental and educational needs of children with cognitive impairments such as Down syndrome and other students with similar educational and developmental needs.  For more information, or to request a virtual tour and assistance with an out-of-district placement, contact Robin Moses, Director of Early Childhood and Education at (862) 210-8781 or rmoses@arcessex.org.
