Read MoreThe Arc of Essex County is grateful to announce that the Flagstar Foundation granted $25,000 toward art instruction at Studio Arc. The grant, which follows an initial $25,000 grant from Flagstar in 2024, helps support the Creative Arts Supervisor position at The Arc of Essex County’s Studio Arc space, allowing more opportunities for children, teens, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn new skills and create more works of art together. The Arc thanks the Flagstar Foundation for its generous contribution to our Studio Arc program.

Read MoreCamp Hope is in session, and the festivities are already going strong! The first week of the 2025 camp season began on June 30, with a “Happy Holidays” theme to kick off the summer. Activities this week included singing thankful songs for Thanksgiving; making colorful slime, musical shakers, and crowns for Mardi Gras; crafting love bugs and heart art for Valentine’s Day; and adventuring through a Fourth of July scavenger hunt, in addition to the pool, sports, music, and other fun activities each day. The event, hosted at Studio Arc, celebrated all the children achieved during the year and recognized the students who will be moving up to the next classroom level. The classes, which ran most Tuesdays from January to June, were held at the Opportunity Zone in Maplewood.
